Mystery, action, adventure, conflict – all set in a far north ice bound asbestos mine in 1970. Designing this cover and interior was fun: a fresh genre for me, layering some well chosen imagery to hint at the setting/danger/foreboding, and playing with some retro colours including the yellow text on the title and spine to give a nod to the time period. On the interior I chose a motif of cracked ice to echo the setting, danger, and mental states of the characters. Expert tip from an experienced author: hire a strong team: editing, design, project management/marketing. The whole team was amazing to work with!
